Francisco Menezes of Holy Moly Motorcycles has introduced the “Baja Kit,” a comprehensive transformation package for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 that captures the rugged, sun-drenched spirit of 1980s desert racing.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic XT and TT models that dominated the Baja dunes, the kit shifts the T7’s modern, Dakar-style aesthetic toward a classic “Desert Sled” silhouette.

Custom Yamaha R5-B Cafe Racer by JETS Forever

The UK-based workshop JETS Forever has crafted “CROWN JEWEL,” a meticulously executed tribute to a “what if” moment in Yamaha racing history. This is one cool custom Yamaha R5-B cafe racer.

The build is inspired by the legendary Montjuich Class—a specialized endurance racing category from the early 1970s that demanded machines capable of both high-speed tarmac battles and explosive standing-start performance.

Custom Retro-Kitted Yamaha Ténéré 700 by Holy Moly Motorcycle

Francisco Menezes of Portugal’s Holy Moly Motorcycles developed a complete, plug-and-play T7 retro kit, aiming to transform the modern ADV into a giant twin-cylinder enduro that honors its air-cooled ancestors, specifically the classic XT600Z Ténéré.

The Yamaha Ténéré 700 (T7) has been lauded for its lightweight design and capable CP2 parallel-twin engine, making it a favorite among adventure riding purists who prefer an old-school approach to off-road travel. However, many find the T7’s modern styling uninspiring and lacking in resemblance to the storied Ténéré bikes of the past.

Custom Yamaha R1 Streetfighter by Xavi Dynamische

This is “Tydirium,” built by Xavi Dynamische. It is a naked superbike conversion of a Yamaha R1 (based on the 2002 Deltabox III chassis), designed to capture the aggressive performance of a race replica while adopting a hyper-naked aesthetic.

The bike is named after Darth Vader’s personal shuttle due to its all-black, menacing look. Unlike most modern factory naked bikes, which often feature lower-spec components and reduced power, the Tydirium retains the full performance capabilities of the R1’s engine and chassis, including its claimed 152 hp output and a notably low dry weight of 174 kg (383 lbs).

The aesthetic maintains the XT500’s DNA but features PBM’s signature style, including a modified factory fuel tank, custom aluminum bodywork, and a distinctive yellow and black ‘speed block’ paint scheme inspired by the 1976 Yamaha YZ400.

Custom Yamaha XV750 Virago Cafe Racer by Plan B Motorcycles

This is the “Silver Arrow,” a strikingly customized 1982 Yamaha TR1, a machine born from a desire to elevate a misunderstood platform. The bike was built by Christian Moretti of Plan B Motorcycles in Laveno Mombello, Italy.

Known for its powerful V-twin engine, the Yamaha TR1 was often called the “poor man’s Vincent,” a comparison Christian took seriously. His goal was to build a machine worthy of the legendary name, reinterpreting the 1960s British café racer style through a lens of Italian creativity and mechanical obsession.

This Yamaha Camera-Based Warning System Could Improve Rider Safety

In a world where motorcycles are increasingly asked to think for themselves, Yamaha’s latest idea is a curious blend of simplicity and sophistication: one camera, one brain, one big step toward smarter riding.

While Honda is off tinkering with stereo lenses and radar arrays, Yamaha’s new patent filings show it’s betting on a lone front-facing eye to do all the heavy lifting—measuring speed, trajectory, and distance with nothing but image analysis and digital smarts.
