BMW’s R20 Boxer Prototype Is Nearly Production-Ready

BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch just did something most motorcycle executives would never do. He hopped on an uncamouflaged prototype of the upcoming R20 and rode it through a promotional video with no zebra wrap, no strategic tape, no disguise of any kind.

The video is part of a new BMW series called “The Ones Who Ride,” released on September 4. Flasch talks about riding, racing, and motorcycle culture for about ten minutes. Then the R20 appears on screen, looking far more finished than a concept bike has any right to.

BMW’s R 1300 GS Aurum Edition Packs Every Factory Option

BMW Motorrad has built exactly 100 units of the R 1300 GS Aurum Edition for the Dutch market. The name comes from the Latin word for gold, and the bike wears gold spoked wheels, gold accents throughout, and an Alcantara saddle over a Triple Black base colorway.

Each example carries a numbered “XX of 100” badge on the handlebars. BMW also included the Touring, Dynamic, and Innovation accessory packages as standard equipment rather than optional add-ons.

BMW Motorrad has marked ten years of motorcycle production in Manaus, Brazil, with a very small run of special R 1300 GS Adventure models. Only 10 examples are planned, matching the number of years the factory has been building BMW motorcycles.

The anniversary bikes use green bodywork with yellow striping, giving the large adventure machine a look that is separate from BMW’s regular catalog colors. Each one also gets a top case with a black-and-green pattern on its rear panel.

Aditya Deshmukh and the team at Mean Green Customs in Mumbai have taken a standard BMW R nineT and turned it into an aggressive, “zesty” urban scrambler they’ve named “THRYX.”

Aditya, who has a background in industrial design, started the project with meticulous sketching to ensure the new proportions would stand out in the crowded streets of India.

Custom BMW R75/6 For Sale

This custom BMW R75/6 from 1976, currently listed on Bring a Trailer with no reserve, has been custom-built as a scrambler, a project completed by the seller in 2018. The comprehensive transformation focused on both aesthetic and performance upgrades.

The frame, engine guard, swingarm, and other key components were finished with a black powder coating, while the fuel tank was internally lined and refinished in Porsche Pacific Blue Metallic. The bike also received brushed-aluminum fenders mounted with stainless-steel brackets and a reupholstered two-up seat.
