BMW Motorrad has built exactly 100 units of the R 1300 GS Aurum Edition for the Dutch market. The name comes from the Latin word for gold, and the bike wears gold spoked wheels, gold accents throughout, and an Alcantara saddle over a Triple Black base colorway.
Each example carries a numbered “XX of 100” badge on the handlebars. BMW also included the Touring, Dynamic, and Innovation accessory packages as standard equipment rather than optional add-ons.
What the Aurum Edition Includes
The R 1300 GS Aurum Edition is priced at €34,950, which works out to roughly $40,601 at current exchange rates. That figure covers the Touring, Dynamic, and Innovation packages in a single build.
Adaptive ride height and automatic shift assist (ASA) come equipped from the factory. A heated seat, anti-theft alarm, tinted windscreen, Option 719 brake and shift levers, and BMW’s three-piece Vario luggage complete the standard equipment list.
The R 1300 GS Adventure Aurum Edition is also limited to 100 units and costs €36,950 (about $42,925). It adds blacked-out engine protectors with integrated crash bars and swaps the Vario luggage for a three-piece aluminum hard case set.
Why a Netherlands-Only Build
BMW has a pattern of region-specific special editions. The company recently built a 10-unit R 1300 GS Adventure for Brazil, and the Aurum Edition follows a similar targeted approach for a different market.
Limiting the run to one country lets BMW test demand for a fully-loaded GS configuration without committing to global production. If the 100 Dutch units sell quickly, other markets could see their own versions.
The strategy also gives Dutch dealers a conversation piece to draw foot traffic. A numbered, gold-accented GS with every factory option filled in from the start does that job.
