Kawasaki has confirmed the Z650 S and Z900 will return for the 2027 model year, keeping its naked bike lineup intact across the middleweight segment.
The Z650 S reaches dealers in September with prices starting at £7,099. Three color schemes will be offered, including a Candy Persimmon Red over Metallic Carbon Gray option and a Pearl Blizzard White with Ebony and Candy Lime Green combination.
Introduced recently as a sharper alternative to the standard Z650, the S variant brings broader bodywork shrouds, a wider handlebar, and aluminum accent pieces throughout. KTRC traction control comes standard, with a quick-shifter available as an accessory.
A TFT color display fills the cockpit, and Kawasaki’s Rideology smartphone app handles connectivity. The overall stance reads more aggressive than the base model, drawing on the same Sugomi design language that runs through the Z family.
Z900 Returns With Familiar Formula
Further up the displacement ladder, the Z900 continues into 2027 with a December arrival and a £9,199 starting price. Its 948cc liquid-cooled inline-four carries over, known for quick-revving character and a strong midrange that pulls hard toward redline.
Electronic aids include an up/down quick-shifter, IMU-backed cornering management, switchable traction and power modes, and electronic cruise control. Turn-by-turn navigation rounds out the tech package.
The Z900 SE returns as well, available from September at £11,349. It adds Brembo front calipers and an Öhlins rear shock to the standard chassis. A Performance Edition throws in an Akrapovic carbon exhaust silencer for riders who want the full catalog.
I’ve always felt the Z900 gets overlooked in the naked class, quietly offering more displacement and tech than some of its pricier competitors.
Both the Z650 S and Z900 carry Kawasaki Genuine Accessories support and Rideology connectivity across all variants.
