I recently pointed out my picks for the best sportbikes out there, but nobody should ride a sportbike without the right gear, and that means having a good pair of boots. So, I thought I’d put together a list of the best sportbike boots.
Unlike cafe racer boots or cruiser boots, you really need to have some sportbike boots that are designed for high performance. These boots should focus on protection and usability on the bike. They compromise less on style and casual usability and are a lot more hardcore. With that said, let’s take a look at some of the best options out there.
1. Alpinestars SMX 6 v2 Vented Boots
The Alpinestars SMX 6 v2 Vented Boots are a serious force to be reckoned with for a very reasonable price. The Alpinestars Supertech-R Boots are another great option for the sportbike rider. Available in a variety of colors, these boots come with plenty of ventilation and perforations to keep your feet comfy while you ride. they have a microfiber upper construction with TPU over a specific area. Flexible accordion microfiber stretch panels allow optimal movement, and zipper and Velcro closures keep these boots on your feet. The lightweight rubber compound sole gives you a good grip and allows for natural flexing and foot positioning adjustments while riding.

The SIDI ST Boots offer a unique external, hinged support structure that’s designed to prevent lateral ankle movement while still allowing you the correct movement while on the bike. 4. Spidi XP3-S Sport Boots
The Spidi XP3-S Sport Boots offer a very good package for the money, though the list of features isn’t quite as long as some of the boots are already shown here. The boots are an update on the classic XP1 and feature a side protector and slider, a polyurethane rear fin that keeps turbulence down and absorbs shock when needed, thermoformed carbon ankle protection in key areas, a high level of cushioning, and Bi-Component plastic toe sliders that are replaceable.

5. SIDI Mag-1 Boots
The SIDI Mag-1 Boots are a killer option for any serious sportbike rider. These boots feature a unique internal brace system made of carbon fiber. They also have a micrometric Tecno 3 magnetic closure system that makes adjusting them easy. Pair that with a rear upper polyurethane, TPU in all the key areas, a nylon inner sole with removable arch support, dual compound sole, air intakes to keep feet comfortable, and replaceable external shin, heel, and toe sliders.

I find the Dainese Axial D1 Air Boots to be rather ugly, but they work well, and I’ve included them. The boots feature the D-Axial system in carbon and aramid fiber, metal inserts, nylon heel, reinforced nylon toe, replaceable magnesium slider, and TPU inserts. The boots also get D-Stone fabric, split cowhide leather, microfiber upper construction, elasticated inserts, a speed lacing system, a gear shift guard, a rubber sole, and a zipper closure system at the back of the boot.

7. Dainese Torque D1 In Boots
Keeping with Dainese for a bit longer, I have to showcase the Dainese Torque D1 In Boots. These are the best in the Torque series of boots. They feature a nylon heel, reinforced nylon toe, nylon inner hull, magnesium inserts, shock absorption insert on the heel, D-Axial jointed anti-twist ankle protection, and an inner retention band. The boots also have a microfiber upper, D-Stone fabric, speed lace-up system, rear zippered closure, and a suit-to-boot fastening system.

8. TCX RT-Race Boots
The sportbike race boots from TCX are darn weird looking but they’re also darn good. The boots have a microfiber upper construction, over-injected front and side panel, padded rear flex area, abrasion-resistant microfiber heat guard, fast fit control lacing system, soft microfiber gaiter, Air Tech lining for airflow, Double Flex Control system that allows for easy movement, polyurethane shin plate, zipper and Velcro closure, aluminum buckle and polyurethane-toothed band on the shin plate and around the calf, replaceable insole, and replaceable polyurethane and magnesium sliders.

If you don’t like the Dainese Torque boots I showcased above, maybe the Torque D1 Out Gore-Tex Boots will be more your speed. The boots feature a nylon heel, reinforced nylon toe, protective nylon inner hull, magnesium inserts on the outer side and heel, D-Axial system in TPU.
