Wind Burned Eyes was created and is run by me, Wade Thiel. It’s a website dedicated to the world of motorcycles. It covers bikes, gear, news, and motorcycle culture.
This is a one-man show, so if you want to support my work and independent moto journalism, consider buying me a coffee or signing up to contribute monthly. (Even just $1 a month helps!)
Who Is Wade Thiel?
Hi, I’m Wade. I’ve been an automotive and motorcycle journalist for years. I live in Indianapolis, IN, where I ride a couple of Honda motorcycles. (And anything else I can get my hands on, really.)
I’ve written for various publications and worked as a digital marketer for over a decade. My full-time day job is with Ford Credit, you can check me out on LinkedIn.

Why Wind Burned Eyes?
The name Wind Burned Eyes came from Hunter S. Thompson’s book Hell’s Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, specifically from the excerpt below.
“Screw it all the way over, reach through the handlebars to raise the headlight beam, the needle leans down on a hundred, and wind-burned eyeballs strain to see down the centerline …”
It’s an amazing book and probably Thompson’s best. It was a big part of what steered me towards journalism and motorcycles.
You can find the book here if you’d like to read it.
