FortNine: Vintage CB360T vs Modern CB300R

One thing that I often wonder is if modern bikes are really all that much better than old ones. They seem to do mostly the same things for more money.

FortNine wanted to tackle this very issue, so the team there put together a video titled “Vintage CB360T vs Modern CB300R.”

The result is a well-crafted argument by some of the best guys in the business.

As you can see in the video above, the modern bike accelerates quicker, is lighter weight, stops better, and handles better.

This should come as no surprise. There have been advancements in motorcycle technology.

However, as Ryan of FortNine points out, the 1970s machine still performs well, and it would make sense for a company to put out a bike that has 1970s performance for around $3,000.

I agree with him, but honestly, I’d like to see something for even less. I’d love to see a Japanese, European, or American motorcycle manufacturer sell a good 250cc or 300cc motorcycle for closer to $2,000.

Forget pretty much any features. Give me a simple machine with simple, old-school technology, and top-notch build quality. Then I’ll be happy.
