Damon Motorcycles has a new model. Well, a couple of models. The Damon HyperFighter Colossus and the HyperFighter Unlimited were revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Based on the HyperSport motorcycle that I’ve written about multiple times both here on Wind Burned Eyes and over at Web Bike World, this new HyperFighter brings Damon’s innovative technology to a new segment in the industry.
As you might expect from the name, this bike is a streetfighter. It’s a muscular, badass version of Damon’s technology packaged to be for those ready for a stripped-down experience.
I spoke with Jay Giraud a while back and he hinted to me that this was coming. Now the bike is here, and it looks better than I expected. Here’s what Jay had to say:
“Forget what you know about traditional streetfighters. Just as HyperSport has done to the sportbike segment, the HyperFighter stands to disrupt the streetfighter category with groundbreaking technology not found on any other bikes,” said Giraud. “The HyperFighter is a stripped-down demon of a bike that is not for the faint of heart. We’re excited to give the naked sports bike fanatic everything they want, and with HyperDrive serving as the nucleus, Damon can continue to innovate and rapidly scale to bring the world’s most electrifying motorcycles to market.”
Derek Dorresteyn, Chief Technology Officer at Damon also chimed in with the following:
“HyperFighter pays homage to the streetfighters of yesterday while looking to the future with unparalleled safety and performance that Damon is known around the world for,” said Dorresteyn. “We’ve built an incredible, technologically-advanced motorcycle that will appeal to both long-time streetfighter enthusiasts and new riders.”
Damon HyperFighter Models and Highlights
There will be three different versions of the Damon HyperFighter. First is the Colossus (only 100 available), and then there are two versions of the Unlimited differing in the battery pack and power output.
Each of these models will come with Damon’s innovative CoPilot and Shift systems. CoPilot is a rider-assist suite of technology that should dramatically reduce accidents, and Shift adjust the rider position on the fly based on rider preference.
