LiveWire and KYMCO Team Up on Maxi-Scooters

LiveWire and KYMCO have two good-looking maxi-scooters. Yes, you read that right. LiveWire, Harley-Davidson’s electric offspring, is teaming up with Taiwan’s KYMCO to deliver an electric maxi-scooter to Europe by 2026, powered by LiveWire’s S2 Arrow platform.

This collaboration deepens their partnership from 2022, when KYMCO first invested in LiveWire, aiming to shape the future of electric mobility in the shape of scooters.

Harley Takes LiveWire Public, Announces Second-Gen Electric Powertrain

Harley-Davidson announced plans to take its LiveWire brand public. This means it will be the first publicly-traded electric motorcycle company in the US.

Expectations are that the move will result in $545 million in proceeds. That money will be used for development. At the same time, Harley announced the second generation LiveWire electric powertrain called Arrow.

Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire Electric Motorcycle Sounds Weird

The Harley LiveWire whirrs instead of rumbles and it’s kind of awesome.

For the record, I’ve always believed Harley’s path back to prominence wasn’t going to be through electric bikes. I don’t think the LiveWire will save the company.

I do, however, find something alluring about how freaking weird the electric motorcycle sounds in the video above.
