There are always good motorcycle news stories every week. At the end of the workweek, I like to do a roundup of the most important news stories.
This week Moto Guzzi, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and Arai helmets made the cut for my news roundup.
Here’s a look at the news stories you need to know this week.
Moto Guzzi V7 Gets the V85TT Engine
Moto Guzzi reworked the V7 motorcycle for 2021, giving it the V85TT’s engine. The engine won’t be a complete copy and paste job, though. Moto Guzzi will rework the engine a bit to keep it A2 compliant in Europe. This makes the new V7 another good option for people looking for a retro-styled ride in 2021.
Sturgis Rally: 2021 Dates Announced
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was a controversial gathering in 2020, but it looks like it will soldier on. The event set a 2021 date. Seeing as how the situation with the global pandemic should be a lot better by August of 2021, I see no issue with this. I still contend it shouldn’t have happened in 2020, but at this time setting a 2021 date makes perfect sense.
Arai Unveils Its First ECE Certified Helmet, the 2021 Quantic
Arai hasn’t had a helmet that meets ECE 22.06 safety certification, until now. Meet the Arai Quantic. This new helmet will be available in 2021 and is marketed as a sport touring helmet. It should be a great lid for long-distance riding. I’m not seeing pricing for the Quantic at the moment, but I’d expect this to be priced like other premium Arai helmets.
