BMW R 1300 R, R 1300 RS, R 1300 RT Will Come in 2026

BMW’s at it again, playing its favorite game of “How Many Bikes Can We Build from One Engine?” The BMW R 1300 GS got things rolling, but we all knew it wouldn’t be long before that 1,300cc Boxer found its way into a few siblings.

Thanks to some fresh EPA paperwork, we now have proof: the R 1300 R, R 1300 RS, and R 1300 RT are on their way for 2026. That’s a naked roadster, a faired sport-tourer, and a full-dress tourer, all borrowing from the GS’s playbook—whether they’ll get the same 145-horsepower punch remains to be seen.

Over the years, the Indian Chief has seen its fair share of ups and downs, from being a wartime workhorse to nearly disappearing altogether. But like any good story, there’s always a comeback, and the Indian Chief has had its share of those too.
