This is “The Onyx,” a “Norley” forged by the hands of a French artisan named Cédric Camiade. A Norley, for the uninitiated, is a rare beast: a Harley-Davidson engine nestled within the graceful lines of a Norton Featherbed frame.
Cédric, a man steeped in the world of motorcycles, found his inspiration for this particular build while in Sri Lanka, mesmerized by a deep black onyx stone. The result? A motorcycle that wears that same elegance, a stunning interplay of black bodywork and gleaming chrome.
This Norley Custom Is Something Special
Cédric started with a less-than-perfect Norley, but he had a vision: to create something “classy, elegant, and completely unique,” a bike that moved away from the typical racer’s stance of the old Nortons. He made thoughtful, inspired changes. The wheels, for instance, were switched to classic spoked rims, and a set of period-correct Ceriani forks were added up front.
For modern stopping power, he fitted Brembo calipers. He re-engineered the rear end to perfect the geometry, fitting custom-length YSS shocks, and created one-of-a-kind side covers with intricate stainless steel cable vents.

The design, from the headlight to the tank, all whispers of that onyx stone inspiration, with polished metal elements catching the light and a simple black leather seat providing the perfect perch. The heart of the machine is a Harley-Davidson Evo engine, pulled from a late-model Sportster. Cédric then crafted a unique, custom stainless steel side exhaust line, giving it a voice all its own.
The final result is a masterpiece that has captivated audiences at European shows—a testament to what happens when two different worlds of motorcycling collide in the hands of a true artist.
