This custom Triumph Bonneville T100, born from the legendary workshop of Japan’s Heiwa Motorcycles. Kengo Kimura, the quiet genius behind Heiwa, is a man known for conjuring both wild showpieces and these delightful, everyday custom machines.

For this particular project, Kimura-san chose an older, air-cooled 2000 model Bonneville T100, packing a 790cc engine. A smart choice, as these are more accessible and perfectly suited for what he envisioned: a true “bar hopper.”

The build began with stripping the bike down to its very frame. The subframe was modified, bringing the rear down lower and shorter, and custom mounts were fashioned for a pair of Kayaba twin shocks. Up front, the forks were rebuilt with shorter progressive springs, harmonizing the stance.

She rolls on a bobber-sized wheel combination: a 19-inch up front and a 16-inch at the rear, both shod with classic Adler Classic tires.

The bodywork is a testament to Heiwa’s touch: a hand-rolled rear fender, a cleverly hidden electronics box, and a one-of-a-kind custom fuel tank. The finish is a deep, luscious gloss black by N2 Auto, with subtle graphics by Lou Peace Design, and crowned with a bespoke black leather solo saddle.

Performance wasn’t overlooked, either; the stock carbs were tossed aside for Keihin CR units with open pods, breathing freely into a custom exhaust system. Heiwa bars, vintage controls, and a cleverly hidden speedo complete the package, resulting in a custom motorcycle that’s as stylish as it is an absolute joy to ride.
