In the heart of Montana, Mike Schroeder—Harley-Davidson dealer by day, eclectic bike builder by night—crafted a machine that could’ve rolled straight out of a neon-lit dream.

Dubbed “The Fresh Prince,” this 1984 custom Honda XL200R scrambler underwent a transformation as radical as a biplane turned stunt flyer. This is a unique custom, even if it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

A Bright and Fun Custom Honda XL200R Scrambler

Inspired by a garage brainstorming session and a few beers, Mike envisioned what the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air might ride: a vibrant, 80s-themed scrambler that glows under black lights.

Mike didn’t just slap on some paint; he reimagined the bike’s very framework. He fabricated a new subframe, modified the backbone to fit a mini Sportster-style tank, and handcrafted components like hand guards and side panels from fluorescent acrylic—a material as tricky as it is flashy. His dedication extended to powder-coating, decal design, and even sewing a checkered seat, all with a nod to the era’s flamboyance.

But the pièce de résistance? A nitrous boost system ingeniously fashioned from a tire inflator, delivering unexpected power surges that mirror the surprise of a sudden tailwind. This hidden feature exemplifies Mike’s blend of creativity and mechanical prowess.

Debuting at the 2025 One Moto Show, “The Fresh Prince” captivated audiences, not just for its luminous aesthetics but for the joy it radiated. As Mike puts it, the bike is “all about fun,” a sentiment that resonates with every onlooker’s smile. In true Baxter fashion, it’s a testament to the thrill of creation and the enduring allure of the open road.
