Dana Prasetya of East Java’s Gondezh Custom Cycle has transformed a 1997 Honda NV400—a small-displacement V-twin typically destined for the bobber or chopper scene—into a “Hooligan” street tracker/scrambler hybrid.

Inspired by the aggressive aesthetic of modified Harley-Davidson Sportsters, Dana aimed to prove that Honda’s liquid-cooled 400cc V-twin could serve as a lightweight, nimble alternative to a heavy “Hog.”

This Custom Honda NV400 Scrambler V-Twin Is a Fabulous Example of What’s Possible

Beyond the original main frame and swingarm, nearly every component of the bike was hand-built in-house, resulting in a machine that is reportedly 100 pounds lighter and far more responsive than a stock cruiser.

The extensive list of bespoke work includes a custom subframe, hand-beaten bodywork, a rugged skid plate, and a high-mounted exhaust system complete with hand-made heat shields.

The bike sits on custom-laced spoke wheels and features a unique headlight surround that anchors its tracker identity. Despite its modest 33-35 horsepower factory rating, Dana notes that the bike’s drastically reduced mass and revised ergonomics make it feel like a “small-cc” motorcycle in terms of handling, yet with a surprising amount of punch.

The build stands as a stylish rebuttal to the stigma that V-twins are strictly for low-slung cruisers, offering instead a versatile, high-clearance “hooligan” that’s as maneuverable as it is mean-sounding.
