In a recent reveal at EICMA, Cake showcased versions of its Kalk, Osa, and Makka electric motorbikes that were targeted at mobile workers.
The bikes are known as the Work Series, and they’re targeted at working professionals who need something to transport themselves and materials for business purposes.
The bikes all utilize unique utility and luggage racks to make this happen. It’s a unique idea and one that I personally love.
Cake Work Series Adds Utility to the Lineup
Cake is no stranger to playing up the utility aspects of its electric motorbikes. The Osa was conceived as a modular utility bike, so it only makes sense that Cake would explore utility options for its other models, including the Kalk (off-road or dual-sport) or the Makka (moped).
The work series also gets increased battery capacity and improved motor efficiency, according to Cycle World.
You might be wondering why someone who needed to tote a lot of gear or equipment with them wouldn’t just get a car, but Cake talks up the bikes’ small footprint. This means in tight urban environments, these machines would thrive where cars, trucks, or vans would not.

What’s interesting to me is that Cake continues to innovate with the lineup it has. Rather than add model after model to its lineup, it takes its existing bikes and transforms their purpose.
I had a chance to ride the Cake Kalk a while back and found it to be exceptionally well made. These bikes have a place in the world, though they won’t replace your fully-fledged motorcycles just yet. Still, Cake has a legit chance to transform the industry, and it’s exciting to see the company continue to innovate.
