To be completely honest, most customs look a lot alike, but this Buell-powered SR1 Roadster from RD Kustoms is something different.
This bike came to be out of an illness that the founder of the company had. To read that full story, head over to Return of the Cafe Racers.
The evolution of the machine is genuinely a worthwhile read, but let’s talk about what this bike has on it.
Buell Engine, Custom Chassis – SR1 Roadster
The bike has a custom chassis and it utilizes a stressed-member-style design built of aircraft-grade aluminum.
The brakes and suspension are off a Ducati 1198 motorcycle, and it utilizes an underslung mono-shock. The wheels are 1098 Marchesini.
From there it has all-alloy bodywork. RD Kustoms managed to keep everything extremely clean and hide all the wiring and cables for a sleek and unique look.
I highly recommend checking out the full write-up at Return of the Cafe Racers, and you can learn more about RD Kustoms at their Facebook page.
