Triumph has two new motorcycles for the 2024 model year that I’m pretty stoked about. The company recently released all the info for the new Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. These smaller bikes look fun, beautiful, and affordable.
Two New 400 Bikes From Triumph
The bikes both feature a 398cc single-cylinder engine that’s liquid-cooled and fuel-injected. It’s the Triumph TR-Series engine and makes 39.5 hp and 27.87 lb-ft of torque.
The bikes are very similar in design, with the Speed 400 being the street-focused bike, whereas the Scrambler brings more of that pseudo-trail riding aesthetic to the fold.
The bikes are built by India’s Bajaj Auto, which is a smart move by Triumph. Bajaj is a king of making small bikes affordably with good quality.
The bike gets Bosch ride-by-wire engine management system, switchable traction control, and dual-channel ABS. As well as LED lighting, an analog speedometer, an LCD display, and a USB-C charging port. Heated grips are optional.
You’ll find a tubular steel frame with a bolt-on rear subframe. The Scrambler 400X has a longer-travel suspension setup and a slightly longer wheelbase. Overall, the styling is much like Triumph’s other larger displacement motorcycles.
