The buzz around the new Honda CB1000 Hornet has been as quiet as a well-tuned engine at idle, but it seems we might finally be revving up for some action. It appears it could enter production soon.
A Year Late, But the Honda CB1000 Hornet Will be Exciting Nonetheless
Announced at EICMA last year, this flagship naked bike was supposed to hit the streets in 2024, but the silence since then has been deafening.
However, a flicker of hope has emerged from Germany, where type approval documents reveal not one, but two versions: the standard CB1000 and a sportier CB1000SP.
With a robust 150 hp for the regular model and an impressive 155 hp for the SP variant, these machines are gearing up to be some of Honda’s heavy hitters, trailing only the CBR1000RR.
The specs hint at premium Showa suspension and potentially upgraded brakes, which could set a new standard for streetfighters.
As we approach EICMA again, there’s a palpable sense of anticipation—will Honda finally unleash this beast? And will it make its way to the U.S. market?
Given Honda’s track record, we’re cautiously optimistic but don’t hold your breath.
