Honda’s engineers must have been on a serious nostalgia trip because their latest creation isn’t a high-revving superbike or a whisper-quiet EV—it’s a Pokémon. Yes, you read that right.
The Honda Koraidon Project, a collaboration with The Pokémon Company, is a full-sized, rideable version of Koraidon, the legendary creature from Pokémon Scarlet.
This Honda Pokémon Concept Is Bonkers
It’s not just a static display—Honda has packed it with self-balancing tech borrowed from their Asimo robot, giving it the ability to stand, roll, and even “walk” on four legs.
Set to debut at Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo from March 7-9, the Koraidon Project took 40 engineers eight months to bring to life. The result? An 8-foot, 668-pound machine that’s as close to the game’s version as real-world physics allows. While it won’t be moving around at the exhibit, its arms, legs, and even its face will animate to give visitors a taste of its potential.
This isn’t just a flex of Honda’s engineering chops—it’s a love letter to childhood dreams. Following Toyota’s Miraidon concept last year, Honda’s clearly out to prove they can build a better Pokémon. And let’s be honest—who wouldn’t want to ride one?
