Stark Future announced it will send its factory World Supercross team to contest the full 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship in Australia starting in October.
The Barcelona-based electric manufacturer becomes the first all-electric brand to take the start gate in the series, racing its VARG machines in both SX1 and SX2 classes across all five rounds.
A Full-Season Commitment
The agreement is understood to be multi-year, with Stark bringing its World Supercross regulars to Australia.
Michael Hicks and Brian Hsu will compete in the SX2 250 class, while Jorge Zaragoza and potentially Vince Friese are expected in the SX1 450 field.
Racing director Sebastien Tortelli told MotoOnline that AUSX ranks among the strongest supercross programs outside the United States.
“It was important for us to come,” Tortelli said, confirming the factory team intends to race the entire schedule.
He also referenced the five-round spread across the country and into New Zealand, calling the format ideal for reaching Australian fans.
Electric and Combustion Sharing the Gate
Motorcycling Australia approved eligible electric motorcycles to compete alongside combustion machines, provided they meet technical regulations and pass inspection.
That approval opened the door for Stark to enter the series through a direct relationship with AUSX promoters.
The VARG already has credentials to bring. At the opening round of the 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship in Calgary, Hsu qualified fastest in SX2 before Hicks put the VARG on the podium.
Friese finished fourth overall in SX1 at the same event, with Zaragoza taking sixth after a second-place result in one sprint race.
Stark has been expanding its racing program across multiple disciplines, including appearances in FIM SuperEnduro and Hard Enduro.
This year the brand swept the podium at the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Rocket Ride, and Eddie Karlsson became the first rider to finish the main event on an electric bike.
The AUSX announcement adds another competition platform as electric motorcycle brands push into new areas, with companies like Zero Motorcycles adding fast-charging capability to their lineup.
Rider-by-rider details will be confirmed ahead of the season opener in Townsville.
