The Sondors Metacycle is an affordable electric motorcycle. The wonderful gents at FortNine had a chance to take one of these bikes for a spin and find its faults.
As you’ll see in the video above, this bike is not perfect, but for the price, it’s not too bad. It offers a lot to love and that’s saying something from a somewhat questionable company.
Like Ryan from FortNine, I have mixed feelings about this bike. On one hand, I see it as a legit affordable electric motorcycle. On the other, it’s not everything it promised to be and not everything I’d want.
Could Sondors Metacycle be the Future?
As Ryan points out, the company straight up lies about the bike’s specs, and that’s a huge let-down because the specs are important and impressive. However, the bike does a lot of things right, including providing a good riding experience, good range, and good features all at the price advertised.
Also worth noting, the bike did some great things that Sondors doesn’t mention at all, like the beastly brakes, killer wheels and tires, and the fact that it can cruise at 100 km/ph for a good long time without dramatically shortening the range.
Overall, this is a bike I’d consider if you didn’t need to go too far and just wanted something to scoot around town. It’s perfect for urban riders shooting from place to place. It’s also one of the better electric motorcycles out there, but I have a full list if you’re interested.
Note: FortNine is saying it’s a $5,000 bike. Those gents are Canadian, so it may be that there, but what I’m seeing is $6,500 on the Sondors website. At any rate, that sure beats the other options out there.
