Norton, Royal Enfield, and Italjet are in the news this week.
Every week I do a roundup of the stories I cover over at Web Bike World here on Wind Burned Eyes.
These are the three stories I find to be the most interesting.
Norton Motorcycle’s Superlight SS
This is a carbon-fiber, supercharged beast of a motorcycle. Norton made a carbon fiber chassis and then strapped a supercharger to its 650 twin engine. Awesome. Also, the company has a new mystery investor and we may be seeing more of Norton in the future. All good news.
Royal Enfield Might Kill the 500cc Engine
Royal Enfield sells its Bullet 500 right now and it’s a nice little bike, but the company wants to do a new 350, and between that and the new 650 twin-engine it has, there’s not much room for a 500. Plus it would be expensive to upgrade the 500 for emissions.
The Italjet Dragster Scooter Looks Fantastic
Italjet brought its Dragster Scooter to EICMA. It looks awesome. The scooter is only available outside the U.S. currently, but in the markets where it is sold, the bike comes in 125cc, 150cc, and 200cc displacements. It’s an awesome little bike.
