There can be a lot of developments in the motorcycle news in just one week. I write motorcycle news daily at Web Bike World, but at the end of the week, I like to do a roundup here on Wind Burned Eyes.
This week, the news comes in a few different forms from electric bikes to cybercrime, and even self-balancing bikes. Harley-Davidson, 2electron, and Honda are all the big news stories this week.
Let’s dive in.
Honda’s Network Is Hacked
Honda was the victim of a hack. The company’s network shut down and as a result, its production facilities (both car and motorcycle) shut down. They were able to get back up and running pretty quickly, though, but it shows that cybercrime could impact even large companies like Honda.
2electron’s Emula Concept Takes a Different Look at EVs
2electron has a new Emula Concept bike that seeks to emulate gas powered bikes. The motorcycle is electric, but it closely mimics the characteristics of a gas-powered bike. I don’t much care for the tech on the surface, but it would be cool to have different bike profiles, and this technology takes that to the extreme.
Harley-Davidson Is working on a Self-Balancing System
Harley gets crapped on for not being innovative. However, the company has a killer new system it’s working on that would make balancing its heavy touring motorcycles much easier. That sounds like innovation to me.
