The world is a crazy place with the Coronavirus still dominating the news, but I wanted to bring you some of the motorcycle news stories that should, at least for a moment forget the virus.
Every weekday I write several motorcycle news stories at Web Bike World and on Fridays I like to do a news roundup here on Wind Burned Eyes. Here are my top three stories of this week.
TVS Motors Could Buy Norton
This one surprised me a little bit. Not because someone wants to buy Norton Motorcycles—I figured that would happen—but because it’s TVS Motors. I was expecting a British company to jump on the Norton brand, but the Indians might come in and claim another great motorcycle company for their own. I’m not opposed to this idea.
Roland Sands Design and Comoto Partner Up
This is just a distribution partnership, but it is one that I suspect will be highly profitable for both companies. Comoto is quickly becoming an even more dominant force in the motorcycling world, and I can see consumers benefitting in many ways. However, having such a large company control so much does make me a bit wary.
Cake Releases a Street-Legal Version of the Kalk INK
Cake’s electric motorcycles are expensive, too expensive, in my opinion, but I rode one at AIMExpo, and I have to say I had a hell of a good time. The Kalk INK is the cheaper version of its off-road bike, and the Kalk INK SL is the Street Legal (hence the name) version of the most affordable bike. It’s still pricey, but I dig it.
