This review of the XYZCTEM 300D Outdoor Motorcycle Cover should actually help you save money
Recently, I researched motorcycle covers and found a lot of the ones I expected to be good were sorta expensive. At about this same time XYZCTEM (what kind of a name is that?) reached out to me to review its 300D Outdoor Motorcycle Cover. I figured what did I have to lose? So, I said yes.
After waiting a short time, the cover arrived in the mail. And over the course of the next few weeks, I put this cover to the test.
300D Outdoor Motorcycle Cover Details
At this point, I feel I need to tell you exactly what the cover is. It’s not some super-advanced, unique motorcycle cover. Rather, it’s a simple waterproof cover made of what I believe to be a synthetic fabric with a special coating and double seam waterproofing.
The material feels pretty high quality, and pulling it out of the box I was somewhat impressed with what I saw and felt. It was sturdy feeling and looked great. It came inside a small storage bag with some additional straps.
The cover itself comes in multiple sizes. I purchased the XL, which measures 96.5 inches in length, 41.3 inches in width, and 49.2 inches in height. I figured it would cover my 2019 Honda Rebel 300 well.
The cover has three straps, and an additional strap for securing the cover to your bike on windy days. This strap can go through the metal o-ring type holes (see the pictures) on the cover to secure it. I could also see a person adding a lock on these o-ring type holes for added security.
This cover comes with everything you’d need to ensure your bike is protected from the elements.
Is It Any Good?
I used the 300D Outdoor Motorcycle Cover several times on rainy days and I have to say it did a good job keeping my bike dry and protected.
The XL was large enough for my bike, though it didn’t cover every little bike of the machine. The front wheel (as you can see in the pictures) still sticks out. If you want the entire bike covered, go up a size. If you’re okay with one or even both tires and wheels being exposed, follow the sizing chart on the company’s website.
So, the cover works well. That’s without a doubt. The only question I can’t answer is how long it will last. Rain, wind, snow, and other inclement weather can really do a number on a cover, and the really good ones will hold up a long time. I have not been able to test this cover for multiple seasons, so I can’t answer that.
With that said, I think it would do well. I could see it holding up for multiple seasons. And due to its low price, when it’s no longer effective, you can just buy another one.
Should You Buy It?
I see no reason not to. The reasonable price and the apparent high quality are all reasons to consider this simple cover over more expensive options.
Do I think this is the best motorcycle cover out there? Probably not, but I haven’t extensively tested all of the other ones out there. From my perspective and for the price, this is a fantastic motorcycle cover for my needs. I would feel confident in its ability to protect my bike from the elements, and that’s all you could really want from this.
