The super low-volume bikemaker has a new iteration of its No.1 bobber called the SE.
Gladstone Motorcycles crafted the No.1 bobber back in 2013. It was an awesome bike. Now the company has a new model based on the No.1 but with some changes.
“We wanted to build a bike where we didn’t have customers for it – this is what I’d build for myself as a personalised bike on the road,” said designer Guy Wilson.
The new creation is called the SE, and Gladstone Motorcycles just showed it off.
The bike gets the same Metisse nickel plated, rigid frame that the No.1 has.
It also gets an alloy gas tank, a dummy oil tank (probably used to house some electronics), a refurbished 650cc engine off a Triumph with a four-speed, right-foot-operated gear shift, Norman Hyde M-bars, Norton TLS front brake, flush-fitting petrol cap, Doherty levers, Tommaselli handlebar grips (rubber), brass around the headlight and taillight, and an Alcantara seat cover.
The bike is a complete work of art. Unlike with the No.1, Gladstone will build each bike to order. As awesome as this thing looks, there’s no chance of me ever getting one because I can’t afford to spend over $51,000 on a bike.
If you have the means, however, I bet this makes for one killer ride.
