  1. Yes helmets are vastly better. I will disagree with one point though. ‘Smart’ helmets are a huge step backwards. They add distraction. The last thing a rider should be doing is chatting on the phone while riding. Heads Up Displays just obscure vision, and add more distraction. So, while I welcome the improved protective technology, my helmet will never require a battery.
