Have an old BMW R series motorcycle you want to keep to the end of time? LM Creations can help with that by turning it into an electric motorcycle.
The transformation might seem a little extreme and it also might hurt you to think of transforming an old airhead into an EV, but with the way the world is going, it makes sense.
The company does a decent job of keeping the BMW R series aesthetic and overall look.
An LM Creations Electric BMW R Series?
The conversion kit actually utilizes the airhead engine shape and existing cast aluminum housing. It consists of a power unit, battery pack, and electric charger.
The kit’s motor is a 72-volt unit that makes around 20kW or 26.8 hp, and it slots into the aluminum housing. The battery is a 4.3 kWh unit that provides around 50 miles of city range, which isn’t great but is plenty for the urban commuter.
The company sells two types of chargers. The first is a 1.8 kW charger, and the second is a 3.3 kW charger. I’m not seeing anything about charge times at this time.
There is some info on the battery and charge lifecycle itself, though. The battery should be good for 2,000 charge cycles, which puts the total mileage you can get out of the battery at 99,420 miles—likely more than anyone is going to put on one of these machines.
If you don’t want the whole kit, you can also purchase any of the parts individually, something that I found surprising. To learn more head over to the company’s website.
