LiveWire has started sending the 2027 S4 Honcho Trail to dealers across the United States, giving the electric motorcycle brand a new entry point below its larger S2 models.

The off-road mini-moto starts at $4,999, while the street-legal S4 Honcho Street is priced at $5,499. European deliveries are expected to follow this fall.

A Smaller, Cheaper LiveWire

Both S4 versions use the same motor and battery package. LiveWire lists a claimed range of 53 miles under WMTC testing, or up to 73 miles at a sustained 20 mph, along with a claimed top speed of 59 mph.

The Trail weighs 253 pounds at the curb, which is 13 pounds less than the 266-pound Street model. That difference comes from the Trail’s off-road equipment and the Street’s road-oriented hardware, although the two bikes share the same basic platform.

The pricing puts the Trail below LiveWire’s S2 Del Mar and Mulholland, which start at $11,999, and the S2 Alpinista at $12,999. It also makes the S4 platform less expensive than the LiveWire One, even after that motorcycle’s recent price reduction to $13,999.

The Dealer Rollout Starts Now

LiveWire says additional Trail shipments will continue as dealer inventory builds, with the S4 Honcho Street scheduled to follow soon. The company is also expanding the platform into select European markets later this year.

The launch gives LiveWire a motorcycle aimed at shorter trips, light trails, and new riders who may not want a full-size electric machine. The company’s earlier electric commuter coverage at Wind Burned Eyes shows where this smaller platform fits in the growing range of battery-powered motorcycles.

LiveWire also announced that Jme Thomas of Washington won its S4 giveaway and selected a Trail. The first production bikes are now reaching customers, so dealer availability will be the next test for the $4,999 electric mini-moto.
