Ah, KTM’s at it again, tinkering in their workshop, cooking up a new lineup of the 390 Adventure. If you’ve been keeping tabs, you’ve probably seen them putting miles on two test models already – the adventure and enduro variants.
A More Robust KTM 390 Adventure Lineup?
But, here’s the kicker: KTM’s planning four flavors of the next-gen 390 Adventure for India. It will be interesting to see what makes it Stateside.
Besides the standard and enduro versions, word is there’s a touring model and a stripped-down, budget-friendly “X” variant. Don’t expect them all at once though.
First out of the gate, likely early 2025, are the adventure and touring models. The “X”? Well, that one’s KTM’s answer to Royal Enfield’s Himalayan 450, priced to keep the competition on their toes.
So, what sets them apart? The X will be basic – simple suspension, fewer bells and whistles. The touring? Alloy wheels and cushy road manners. But it’s the adventure and enduro models where KTM really flexes – wire-spoked wheels, adjustable suspension, and the enduro’s flatter seat and minimalist fairing for serious dirt duty.
Under the hood, it’s the familiar 399cc thumper from the Duke, tweaked just right for ADV duty. Expect the big reveal at EICMA in November, with the bikes hitting showrooms shortly after. It will be interesting to see which varients will make their way to the US.
