The Honda NT1100 and CB1000 Could Come to the US Now

Honda’s been playing coy with us for years, dangling European gems like the NT1100 and CB1000 just out of reach. But now, like a long-overdue sunrise, there’s hope on the horizon.

Both models have passed the sniff test at California’s Air Resources Board (CARB), and it’s about time. This means they could come to the US now, and I’m betting Honda will do just that.

Would You Like to See the NT1100 and CB1000 Come to the US?

The NT1100, built on the Africa Twin’s platform, is a touring machine through and through. That 1,084cc Parallel-Twin hums with confidence, paired with generous wind protection and a bag full of rider aids to keep you rolling comfortably for miles.

In Europe, it’s been a hit, but here, we’ve been stuck watching from the sidelines (except for cops). CARB’s recent approval hints at two civilian versions, manual and DCT, alongside a police variant. Could we see those Showa-EERA electronic suspenders in the U.S.? That’s the kind of surprise Honda might spring.

And then there’s the CB1000—a bike that’s had a rockier road to production. First teased for 2024, it finally rolled out as a 2025 model with an SP version boasting Öhlins suspension and a touch more firepower. CARB’s paperwork only mentions one variant for the U.S., but don’t be surprised if Honda sneaks in the SP to sweeten the deal.

While we wait for official announcements, the question remains: Will Honda throw in the middleweight CB750 or maybe even the Transalp? Let’s not forget the 2025 Gold Wing either, which is revving up for its 50th anniversary.

Honda’s teasing us, but with CARB’s blessing, it feels like the U.S. might finally get its slice of the pie instead of just Europeans and Canadians. Stay tuned—things are about to get interesting.
