It has been almost a year since the debut of Honda’s CB1000 Hornet at the 2023 EICMA show, intended as a larger companion to the CB750 Hornet and CB500 Hornet models. The expected 2024 CB1000 model has been delayed, with only limited details revealed until now. It was greenlit in Europe and new documents confirm it will come to the USA.
CB1000 Hornet Confirmed, Prepare Yourself for Awesome
The bike has recently received type approval in Germany, along with a more powerful CB1000SP variant. Honda originally planned to complete the Hornet lineup with a liter-class model, and initial specifications hinted at 150 hp for the standard CB1000 and 156 hp for the CB1000SP, making both more powerful than the CB1000R Black Edition.
The new bikes are Euro 5+ compliant with similar emissions despite their varying power outputs. The CB1000 is expected to maintain the design showcased at EICMA, featuring a steel twin-spar frame, Showa suspension, radial front brake calipers, TFT screen, and various electronic aids. The CB1000 Hornet was initially planned for a 2024 release but is now likely to debut in 2025.
While details on the CB1000SP remain scarce, rumors suggest it could be a higher-spec, partially-faired version with advanced components like electronic suspension adjustment. With Honda’s 2025 lineup set to be revealed soon, more information on the CB1000 Hornet and CB1000SP is expected in the coming weeks.
