The new Zero Motorcycles XE and XB are shaking things up. Long known for crafting electric bikes that push boundaries but stretch wallets, Zero’s latest move is aimed at expanding access.
Their new “All Access” plan promises to deliver six new models under $10k, built for the entry-level market. Of course, you won’t get Zero’s top-tier specs at these prices, but they’ve packed plenty of punch into these budget rides.
The Zero Motorcycles XE and XB Are Rugged and Fun
The fresh X-line models, the XE and XB, sport a rugged look reminiscent of Surron and Caofen bikes, and they’re initially intended as off-road-only machines in the U.S. With a bit of legwork, though, you might get them street-legal in certain areas.
Take the XB: with 10 hp, 275 lb-ft of torque, and a modest 28 mph top speed, it’s a bike for easy trails and short jaunts. The 2.4 kWh battery charges in three hours, powering 47 miles of range and keeping weight to a trim 139 pounds.
The XE takes it up a notch with 21 horsepower, a 53 mph top speed, and 65 miles of range. It weighs in at 223 pounds, and its battery is swappable.
Priced at $4,195 for the XB and $6,495 for the XE, Zero’s inviting a broader crowd to the electric table—no speed demons, but plenty of torque to keep things thrilling.
