The Shadow is Honda’s venerable V-twin cruiser and it just seems to stick around despite Honda putting out tons of new bikes. The 2024 Honda Shadow Phantom model is a great bike, and it comes with some notable updates.
2024 Honda Shadow Phantom: Yes, It is Still Here
I wouldn’t be surprised if you thought the Shadow was no more. It’s not like Honda has put a lot of effort into the bike lately.
It got updates in 2010 and 2022, but they were minor, and the Rebel line has been the company’s cruiser focus. But the Shadow is still here and is a killer bike.
For 2024, the bike gets optional ABS and a rear disc brake instead of the old drum. There are also styling updates, with more exciting paint schemes, gaitered forks, a new headlight cover, and new LED front and rear turn signals. It also gets new fenders.
It lacks a passenger seat, but that’s easy to add. It also has a new handlebar and mirror setup that provides a more upright riding position. The changes contribute to a six-pound lighter motorcycle overall.
From a performance standpoint, you’re looking at the same 745cc liquid-cooled V-twin powerplant. It has a five-speed manual gearbox that sends power to the rear wheel through a shaft drive. It does get new machined cylinder head fins—not the matte black of older models. Pair that with blacked-out exhaust pipes and it looks a lot like air-cooled machines.
The 2024 Shadow Phantom will hit dealers in June of this year and come in Deep Pearl Gray Metallic or Orange Metallic. If you want to skip the ABS, you can snag one for as little as $8,399. That’s a $400 increase over last year’s model.
