Ducati has a new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. This motorcycle comes with new equipment and is a sportier version of the versatile Multistrada.
Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and Ducati have a special relationship. Three years ago the Multistrada won the hill climb event, and Ducati has always been a big name there.
This new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak looks pretty fantastic, let’s take a closer look.
2022 Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak – The Sporty Multistrada
The bike gets 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, single-sided swingarm, a livery inspired by Ducati’s Desmosedici GP ’21, Ohlins semi-active suspension (6.7 inches of travel at both wheels), Brembo M50 Stylema monoblock calipers with brake pads from the Panigale V4, three-level Bosch-Brembo ABS 10.3ME Cornering system as standard.
The engine on this model is the 1160cc V4 Granturismo engine you’ll find on all Multistrada V4 motorcycles. It creates 170 hp and 92 lb-ft of torque. One unique thing about this model is the new Akrapovic titanium and carbon silencer.
The bike’s electronics are similar, but there’s a new Race Riding mode that replaces Enduro mode. It gives a more direct throttle and also adjusts the ABS and traction and wheelie controls.
The frame was altered for this model. It has a larger rake angle of 25.75 degrees, which is up from the 24.5 degrees of the original bike. The wheelbase is also slightly longer. These facts and the more aggressive riding position mean the bike should feel much sportier overall.
Ducati has a $28,995 price tag on this model. It will arrive in dealerships in December of this year as a 2022 model. Learn more at Ducati’s website.
