While the Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M might not exist in their current form too much longer due to Yamaha working on a V4 engine, the company does have a 2025 model. This bike is available in the United States, but not some other markets. Let’s take a closer look at it.
The Details of the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1
The most notable change to this 1,000cc motorcycle is the addition of carbon fiber aerodynamic winglets for both the R1 and R1M, which are designed to support the anti-wheelie electronics and improve front-end feel and feedback.
The regular R1 is also getting updated fully-adjustable 43mm KYB inverted forks and Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers with a new Brembo radial master cylinder.
The seat material on both the rider and passenger seats has been updated for improved grip and ease of movement.
The R1M’s updates are minimal, with only the updated seat texture and aerodynamic winglets added.
The 2025 YZF-R1 will be available in the U.S., while in Europe, Yamaha is offering only an R1 RACE model, which is based on the non-M model. The starting price of the bike is $18,999.
