Cake has a new bike in its lineup called the Makka. This new bike is billed as a true commuting machine, and it sets itself apart from the Kalk and the Ösa that the company already sells.
The Makka is the third real design coming from Cake, and it looks like a good, purpose-built machine.
It’s built for the urbanite who needs something better than an electric bicycle but doesn’t need some big motorcycle either.
Cake’s Makka Is Here to Help You Conquer Your Commute
The bike has a step-through design and some pretty impressive stats for what is essentially an electric moped.
“With cities and urban mobility changing faster than expected with cleaner and more efficient solutions, we have been eager to share the Makka: An urban short-haul vessel, compact in size and price, reaching a wide audience in the process of deciding what their future means of transportation will be. I’m proud to introduce the CAKE urban shuttle, Makka.” says Stefan Ytterborn, CAKE CEO and Founder.
The bike rolls on knobby tires. It weighs just 132 pounds, and it comes with a standard cargo rack. There are two models. There’s the Flex and the Range.
The Flex offers a roughly 28 mph top speed and about 30 miles per charge. The Range offers up a 15 mph top speed and a range of 35 miles. This means the bike is specifically designed for riders who don’t have too far to go.
The price of the Flex is $3,800 and the price of the Range is $3,500.
