In-Depth Review: BYKR Mesh Motorcycle Jacket

A motorcyclist wearing a BYKR Mesh Motorcycle Jacket

For the last several weeks, I’ve been wearing my new BYKR Mesh Motorcycle Jacket. With the weather warming up in my neck of the woods. This jacket is getting more applicable.

I wanted to test out how well this jacket would perform on the road. BYKR’s jacket is super affordable, and having a ton of other jackets more than three times the price, I was curious how this one would stack up.

Key Takeaways

  • Excellent protection with CE-approved armor
  • Great airflow for hot weather
  • Stylish design with adjustable features
  • Affordable price point
  • Zipper to pants connection, adjustment on arms and cuffs, waist adjustment, tons of waterproof pockets, YKK zippers, reflective logos, and Cordura fabric

Good Protection

When it comes to motorcycle gear, safety is key. The BYKR Mesh Motorcycle Jacket is designed with high-density armor in critical areas like the shoulders, elbows, and back.

This gives you peace of mind knowing you’re protected against potential impacts. I noticed the armor doesn’t restrict movement on the bike and is even comfortable off the bike.

That CE armor is just part of the equation. The company lists Cordura fabric material, and I’ll say the jacket feels very sturdy—much like more expensive mesh jackets. I didn’t crash in this jacket, so I can’t say for sure how it will hold up in a slide, but my guess is it would do pretty well.

Comfort and Breathability

Riding in hot or even warm weather can be uncomfortable, but this jacket has a fantastic ventilation system.

The mesh fabric allows for excellent airflow, keeping you cool. I rode for hours, and I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable I felt. It wasn’t sweltering out when I had this jacket on, but it did get up into the 70s and sunny. It was extremely comfortable.

I plan on making this my go-to during the summer months, so I may do an update once temps climb into the 80s and beyond.

Stylish and Functional Design

Not only does this jacket provide safety and comfort, but it also looks good. I think the large logos are a bit unsightly, but their redeemable quality is that they are high-visibility and reflective.

Overall, this is a good-looking jacket. The sleek design is mostly minimalistic—almost tactile—which many riders will appreciate.

It comes in various colors, including a bright fluorescent green that enhances visibility on the road. Are there more stylish jackets out there? Yes, but not at this price.

Adjustable Fit

One of the standout features of the BYKR Mesh Motorcycle Jacket is its adjustable components.

You can easily customize the fit around the cuffs, collar, and waist, ensuring that it feels snug without being too tight. This is especially helpful for those who might want to wear layers underneath.

And you might want to layer up if the temp is going to fluctuate or drop. On one of the chillier days, I put on a hoodie under this jacket, and it fit just fine. This expands the use of the jacket. Layer up, and you have a jacket that can be good to go in a wider temperature span.

Value for Money

At a price point of around $40, this jacket offers incredible value.

For the money, I’ve been pretty impressed with the quality and features, especially considering the protection it provides. It’s hard to find a jacket that combines safety, comfort, and style at such an affordable price.

Comparable jackets almost always cost a lot more. I’m not saying this is the best jacket out there, but for the price of a nice dinner, you’re looking at getting a motorcycle jacket you could wear for years. That is true value.

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just starting, this jacket checks a lot of the boxes for what you want to look for.
