Harley-Davidson is one of the most celebrated and iconic motorcycle companies in the world. Because of that, I wanted to highlight the best Harley-Davidson motorcycles of 2020.
The motorcycle company is struggling these days due to an aging demographic and some issues with its image, but it’s making moves to change that, and there are some real winners in the lineup.
You won’t see the new LiveWire here. While all of Harley’s bikes are expensive, the LiveWire, in particular, doesn’t make sense. It’s simply too damned expensive.
There are plenty of other expensive motorcycles in HD’s lineup. Personally, I think most of the company’s bikes are overpriced, but there are some that I could see footing the bill for. Here are the five best Harley-Davidson Motorcycles of 2020.
1. 2020 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200
The 2020 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 is the best-looking Sportster model, in my mind. The mini ape-hanger handlebars, the stance, and overall look of this bike is killer.
Pair all that with the air-cooled Evolution 1200 engine with 73 lb-ft of torque and the motorcycle is a real killer motorcycle. The bike’s engine is mostly blacked-out, and that goes with the rest of this bike’s aesthetics.
2. 2020 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Standard
The Electra Glide Standard is my favorite bike in Harley’s lineup. The company did something right when they made this one. They took the Electra Glide and stripped it down to its essentials.
Few features, amenities, and tech. Just two wheels, an engine, lights, a large fairing and shorty windshield, and a comfy seat. Motorcycling essentials. Then offered it at a reasonable price. It’s still a pricey machine, but it’s the essentials, and I like a good basic motorcycle.
The Electra Glide Standard gets an air-cooled V-twin engine with a displacement of 107 cubic inches. The engine puts out 119 lb-ft of torque. If you like this motorcycle I hope you like black. That is its only color.
3. 2020 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic 114
If you’re looking for a classic-looking Harley-Davidson cruiser, you want to get a Softail, and the Heritage Classic 114 is the best one to buy. This motorcycle could time travel and look like it’s right at home, though its performance is thoroughly modern.
The air-cooled V-twin engine has a displacement of 114 cubic-inches (you can have the 107 cubic-inch engine, too), and puts out 119 lb-ft of torque. Aside from the modern engine, the bike comes with plenty of bells and whistles. It’s at home on the open road or around town, and it’s one of the best bikes out there.
4. 2020 Harley-Davidson Roadster
Like the Harley-Davidson Sportster but want something that looks and feels a little more aggressive? The 2020 Harley-Davidson Roadster is the model you want to buy. The bike features the 1200 V-twin air-cooled engine that puts out 76 lb-ft of torque.
The motorcycle Harley calls this a pure Sportster with some cafe racer styling. I can see where they’re coming from with this one. Though, the bike is more of a Sportster than a cafe racer.
5. 2020 Harley-Davidson Road King Special
The Harley-Davidson Road King Special is my favorite touring bagger from HD for 2020. The bike features the Milwaukee 114 V-twin engine that puts out 111 lb-ft of torque. The V-twin engine features a 2-1-2 dual exhaust with tapered mufflers. The bike comes in a wide variety of colors, but I like the River Rock Gray Denim the best.
The bike has no fairing or windshield, though you can add plenty of accessories if you want. The bike has a big comfy seat for the rider and passenger and the hard saddlebags are spacious and ready for a long ride.
