Moto Guzzi recently hit 100 years as a company and the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is the bike that came out soon after the celebration of that milestone.

It’s a sport touring machine and Blake Connor of Cycle World had a chance to get in the saddle of this ride in Northern Italy to test it out. This bike is still in prototype form at the time of his ride.

The V100 Mandello is offered in two forms, there’s the base model and then the S model. The S model is obviously upgraded for additional performance.

In its base form, you get the killer brand spanking new longitudinal-mounted twin engine. This is a totally new design from the company and is liquid-cooled. With a displacement of 1,042cc, the engine will make 115 hp and 77.5 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 9,500 rpm.

This bike also gets a 6-axis IMU, giving riders cruise control, ride modes, lean-angle sensitive ABS, and traction control. Gone are the days of yesteryears tech on a retro-styled bike.

The S model features Ohlins EC 2.0 semi-active suspension on both the front and the rear. This suspension system works with the ride modes, so as you select a new ride mode, it adjusts the suspension accordingly.

Connor of Cycle World notes that this bike is extremely versatile. You can load it up like a touring machine or you can strip it down and hit the twisties like you would on a sportbike.
