Suzuki GT750S Vallelunga Racing Special

Suzuki GT750S

A Unique Racing Sportbike in the Suzuki GT750S

I spend a lot of time discussing cafe racers, bobbers, scramblers, and other bikes, but I do love cool sportbikes like this 1974 Suzuki GT750S Vallelunga.

The Suzuki GT750 Le Mans came to the world in 1971. It was nicknamed Water Buffalo or Kettle. It was the first liquid-cooled production motorcycle from Japan. The version you see here is a SAIAD-developed racing special.

This particular bike was showcased on BikeBound, and I suggest you head over to that site for more details, but I’ll give you some highlights.

The motorcycle was developed to compete in Gare Derivate Serie racing championships. Only about 100 were ever made.

Daniele and Alberto Soiatti a father and son team started Italy’s Soiatti Moto Classiche. The shop does concourse-level restorations. This is their bike.

You can learn more about Daniele here and more about Alberto here. The photos for this were taken by Old Piston. You can see more of the photographer’s work here.
