Can You Buy a Factory Dakar Bike? Meet the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica 1

KTM’s 2027 450 Rally Replica is finally arriving, and it’s the closest thing to an actual Dakar-winning machine that any of us will ever ride. Built directly from the Austrian brand’s legendary factory race program, the 450cc single-cylinder bike combines proven rally DNA with modern touring technology.

This isn’t your typical middleweight adventure bike. The 450 Rally Replica is purpose-built for desert racing, featuring KTM’s rally-specific 450cc fuel-injected SOHC engine paired with a six-speed gearbox and Brembo hydraulic clutch.

Built for the Toughest Races

The frame is hand-welded and laser-cut, engineered to balance longitudinal and torsional flex exactly like KTM’s competition bikes. Suspension comes from the WP PRO lineup found on the factory race team, offering 304mm of travel up front and 280mm at the rear.

Weight savings are everywhere. A titanium Akrapovič exhaust, CNC-machined triple clamps, and carbon-fiber components throughout make the bike lean and nimble.

The real story is the fuel system: a trio of tanks holding 34.5 liters total, designed for rally stages where you might be hundreds of kilometers from the nearest gas station. A carbon-fiber navigation tower with LED screen and digital roadbook support rounds out the tech.

The Benavides Edition Pushes It Further

Only eight units of the exclusive Luciano Benavides Factory Edition exist, celebrating the 2026 Dakar Rally winner. These get full Red Bull KTM factory livery, premium Michelin rally tires wrapped in mousse, and a custom Selle Dalla Valle seat.

Buyers of the Benavides Edition don’t just get a bike—they get an experience. KTM is handing over the bikes in person with a signed race jersey, VIP access at the 2026 KTM Adventure Rally in Italy, and on-the-ground support from the actual Dakar-winning race team.

The standard 450 Rally Replica starts at $45,000, while the Benavides Edition runs $57,800. With just over 100 units planned, these bikes move fast—availability begins July 2026.

KTM’s rally dominance spans nearly a decade: podiums at Dakar almost every year since 2020. If you’ve ever dreamed of riding what nearly won the world’s toughest off-road race, this is your closest shot.
