Ducati has established a massive €121 million ($139.7 million) development program to strengthen its long-term global competitiveness and accelerate technological innovation.

Dubbed “Ducati Raise the Bar,” the comprehensive initiative was formally approved by Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy via the state-owned development agency Invitalia.

The backing highlights public support for the iconic Borgo Panigale manufacturer as a centerpiece of Italy’s famed “Motor Valley” in the Emilia-Romagna region.

A major portion of the funding is subsidized by the state, with the Ministry supplying a non-repayable government grant worth €33.5 million ($38.7 million).

Ducati will cover the remaining balance to fuel the program’s strategic objectives.

Over €99 million ($114.3 million) of the total fund is earmarked specifically for industrial research and experimental development activities.

These resources will focus on expanding Ducati’s current motorcycle lineup by integrating next-generation, sustainable powertrains and electronics. The investment will also target internal production operations, evolving manufacturing processes through modernized, high-tech industrial methods.

Beyond vehicle technology, the initiative seeks to foster specialized technical expertise and bolster employment throughout the broader Italian supply chain.

By cementing its industrial footprint in Borgo Panigale, Ducati aims to maintain its technological leadership on both the street and the racetrack.
