Lead-Acid v. AGM v. Gel v. Lithium batteries.

I’ve discussed the merits of FortNine’s videos before. The Canadian company has one of the best motorcycle-focused YouTube channels out there. This time they take on the topic of batteries, looking at the best motorcycle battery type.

So Which Motorcycle Battery Type Is Best?

The results might surprise you. While lithium, gel, and AGM batteries require less maintenance and perform better in many respects, the difference between the old-school lead-acid battery in terms of performance is minimal. The price difference doesn’t make much sense.

With that said, lead-acid batteries take some tender loving care to keep working.

If you want a maintenance free-battery and have money to spend, lithium is the way to go. If you want something between lead-acid and lithium, gel or AGM are decent choices.

The bottom line is that it matters what you want and how much dough you have to spend.

Here are some links to each type of battery if you need to buy and the battery charger used in the video.
