Vance & Hines Creates an Exhaust for the Harley-Davidson Pan America That Doesn’t Look Ugly

Vance & Hines Adventure Hi-Output 450

Vance & Hines recently released a new exhaust system for the new Harley-Davidson Pan America adventure motorcycle called the Adventure Hi-Output 450.

Typically, I’m not one to bash stock exhausts, but dang it if Harley doesn’t make uggo of a stock exhaust for the Pan America. So, the news of Vance & Hines stepping in to put this misery away is very good news.

This slip-on exhaust not only gives Pan America riders a way to get rid of an eyesore, but it also puts Vance & Hines into the adventure motorcycle segment for the first time.

I knew that Vance & Hines would likely come out with a Pan America aftermarket exhaust, and I think this is a good addition for anyone who owns the bike. It’s also a smart move for the company that already sells so much.

“This is an important launch for Vance & Hines,” said Vance & Hines President Mike Kennedy. “In addition to being a great exhaust for an outstanding motorcycle, the new Adventure Hi-Output 450 product moves us into a whole new category. ADV bikes are a hot market, and we are bringing Vance & Hines performance, style, and sound to the category. In the coming months, we’ll be delivering greater exhilaration to riders of all the most popular ADV bikes in the market.”

The Benefits and Specs

The Vance & Hines Adventure Hi-Output 450 adds five foot-pounds of torque and over five horsepower to the bike.

The exhaust also removes about six pounds of weight from the motorcycle, making it a little bit less of an ADV behemoth.

The slip-on unit itself is a big old 4.5-inch stepped canister constructed of 304 grade stainless steel. There’s a ceramic-coated and CNC-machined, billet aluminum end cap.

It also has functional benefits, including more clearance for boots once standing on the pegs.

It is 50-state emissions compliant and adheres to SAE Standard J2825 sound levels. It also works with Harley-Davidson’s saddlebags for the Pan America.

The Cost

Vance & Hines exhaust systems aren’t cheap, and the Adventure Hi-Output 450 is no exception.

This exhaust will set you back a pretty penny. The company set the official retail price at Retail price is $599.95. The new system will be available in retail outlets in October. You can check it out right now on the Vance & Hines website.
