Motorcycle Helmets for Riders With Glasses

Motorcycle Helmets for Riders With Glasses

Do you need to wear glasses when you ride your motorcycle? If so you’ll have to find motorcycle helmets that are designed specifically for it.

Sure you could potentially cram your glasses in with any old helmet, but the simple fact of the matter is that it won’t be comfortable.

For this reason, I decided to pull together a list of motorcycle helmets designed specifically for riders with glasses.

What to Look for in Motorcycle Helmets for Riders With Glasses

If you haven’t tried it, wearing glasses with a motorcycle helmet can be uncomfortable. Motorcycle helmets are designed to fit snugly on your head. You don’t want a helmet to be loose or sloppy fitting.

Because of this, the padding around where your glasses typically sit can be tight. Force some glasses on with a helmet and you’re going to have a nasty headache soon.

Get a Glasses-Friendly Helmet

The solution is glasses-friendly helmets. Yes, they do exist. If you’re looking around at helmets in person, look for a seam or groove in the padding where glasses would typically sit. In glasses-friendly helmets, this is there for a reason.

If you’re shopping online, simply look for eyeglass-friendly helmets, or check the list of features and stats of the helmet you’re interested in for a glasses-friendly listing. If a helmet has this built-in, it will likely be listed in the features.

It’s also worth noting that a helmet designed as a glasses-friendly option will be equally comfortable if you decide to put your contacts in and not wear your frames.

Try the Helmet on With Your Glasses

Also, it’s worth it to actually try the helmet on before buying. If you’re in person, this is easy, simply wear the glasses you’ll usually wear when you go to check out the helmet.

If you’re shopping online, I say to do more research upfront and find a helmet that has a glasses-friendly design listed as a feature. Also, you should definitely shop at a retailer that lets you return said helmet should you get it and find that it’s not quite as glasses friendly as you expected. I recommend Revzilla and Cycle Gear for that reason.
