Could the CFMoto 800MT-ES Dethrone Premium Adventure Tourers?

Could the CFMoto 800MT-ES Dethrone Premium Adventure Tourers? 1

CFMoto just raised the bar for mid-range adventure tourers by equipping the 2026 800MT-ES with electronically adjustable suspension. Most bikes in this segment stick with conventional setup—you dial in your preferred feel and hope it works for everything.

The 800MT-ES does things differently. Working with KYB, CFMoto engineered semi-active suspension that continuously adapts in real time to road surface, load, and riding style.

Smart Suspension for Real Riding

When you’re pushing pace and the road behaves, the suspension firms up to provide sportier handling and more feedback. Twist off that pace and hit some crumbling asphalt, and it softens automatically to keep things smooth.

Think of it like the system on the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS, but aimed at adventure riders who spend equal time on tarmac and unpredictable surfaces. The front forks deliver 160mm of travel while the rear monoshock gives you 150mm.

Real Power, Real Value

Underneath, the 799cc liquid-cooled twin pumps out 89.9 hp at 9,250 rpm and 49.4 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty for touring two-up across continents, and the six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch makes the whole experience smooth during downshifts.

You also get four riding modes, a six-axis IMU, and Bosch cornering ABS that actually understands what the bike is doing under braking. Twin 320mm discs with J.Juan four-piston calipers handle stopping duty.

CFMoto’s main play here is pricing. The 800MT-ES will undercut established competitors like the BMW F 850 GS and Yamaha Tenere 700 by a significant margin, making serious adventure touring tech available to riders who’d never have access to it at traditional prices.

If CFMoto delivers on that promise and the suspension system proves durable, the 800MT-ES could genuinely reshape what buyers expect in the middleweight adventure category. Gear up properly and you’ve got a legitimate touring platform that rivals bikes costing thousands more.
