Best Motorcycle Camping Sleeping Bags

I’ve written about motorcycle camping before, but one thing I didn’t touch on was motorcycle camping sleeping bags.

These types of sleeping bags are specifically designed for sleeping outdoors. While many of the brands that make them don’t always have motorcyclists in mind, they have some kind of active outdoor sport in mind, whether it be mountain climbing, hiking, or backpacking.

These activities provide a similar camping situation to that of the motorcyclist. That’s why many of these sleeping bags make for good motorcycle camping sleeping bags. However, there are some things you should know.

What to Think About When Shopping for a Motorcycle Camping Sleeping Bag

There’s a lot to think about when it comes to motorcycle sleeping bags. First and foremost, at least for me, is portability and packability. I don’t have a huge touring machine that offers tons of luggage space. I need something small that can be easily strapped to my bike.

Second, you need to think about what the weather and temperature will be like where you are camping. Will it be hot or cold? Different sleeping bags are rated for different temperatures. You need one that is appropriate for the climate you’ll be camping in.

Third, think about the overall quality. How reputable is the brand? Does the product have many positive reviews? Where is it made? Ask all of these questions before buying.

Lastly, think about price. How often do you plan on motorcycle camping? Or more importantly, how often do you see yourself using the sleeping bag you plan to take with you on motorcycle trips? If you only plan to use it a couple of times a year, then think about going with a less expensive option.

Luckily, few sleeping bags are wildly expensive, so you should have no problem finding one that fits your budget.
