Of all the types of bikes out there I love bobbers the most. It’s these bikes that first drew me to motorcycles. The simplicity of them. And this Yamaha XS650 bobber built by Eastern Spirit Garage is a perfect example of the kind of custom bike I love.
The Yamaha XS650 is a common motorcycle for customizing, and it’s clear why, it can be made into anything, and looks great as a cafe racer, scrambler, or (as seen here) bobber.
This particular bike is an excercise in simplicity and attention to detail. It’s a master work built by master craftsmen.
I love the black paint job with gold accents. Black and gold can look trashy, but here it’s elegant, and the accents are prefect to accentuate all the good things about the bike.
There’s a lot of open space here, and that’s a good thing. What’s also good is the use of the solid, large wheels. They offer a contrast to the spacious frame of the motorcycle.
To learn more about this particular build, I’d say to go check out Bike EXIF’s article on it. As you likely know, Bike EXIF produces excellent content, and the article on this bike is no exception.
Also, I’ll point you to Eastern Spirit Garage’s website. This XS650 is my favorite thing they have built, but it’s far from being the shop’s only impressive custom machine. You can see more images of this build and many of its others there.
